How to play PokéSize Up

Three quick games about one question: how big are Pokémon, really? Each has a Daily — the same puzzle for everyone, new every day at 00:00 UTC — and an Unlimited mode to play as much as you like.

Size Up

Two Pokémon stand side by side. The one on the left is fixed; the one on the right is yours to resize until the pair is to scale.

  1. Drag the Pokémon up or down, or use the slider under the stage. The − and + buttons (and the arrow keys) nudge it a little; hold Shift for finer steps.
  2. Press Lock in size (or Enter) when you think it's right.
  3. Both Pokémon are redrawn at their official heights, with lines marking your guess and the real size.

Scoring

Each round is worth up to 1,000 points, and a Daily has five rounds, so 5,000 is a perfect game. Being twice as big or half as big scores 500; four times off (either way) scores nothing. Within 3% counts as Spot on. Your accuracy is the round's score as a percentage.

Stair

Five Pokémon, all drawn the same size. Line them up from shortest to tallest.

  1. Tap two Pokémon to swap them, or drag one onto another. With a keyboard, the left and right arrows move the selected one.
  2. Press Check order. Every step says whether it's right (a check) or which way that Pokémon has to go (an arrow).
  3. You have three tries to get the whole stair right.

In Unlimited you choose the challenge: 3 Pokémon in one try, the standard 5 in three, or 8 in four.

Higher or Lower

Two Pokémon, drawn the same size so the picture gives nothing away. Is the new one taller or shorter than the one before it? Right calls build your streak; one wrong call ends the run. The Daily is twenty calls long; in Unlimited the chain goes on for as long as you keep guessing right. Two Pokémon of the same height never meet.

Your Pokédex

Catch Pokémon as you play and they join your Pokédex, standing in one line at true scale.

  • Size Up: score more than 900 in a round to catch the Pokémon you resized. Anything less and it gets away.
  • Higher or Lower: call it right and you catch the new Pokémon.
  • One Pokémon in 8,192 appears shiny, with its rare colours and a sparkle. Catch it the same way and it's saved shiny in your Pokédex.

The Daily

  • Everyone plays the same Daily, so you can compare results with friends — the share button copies your score without spoilers.
  • A new one starts every day at 00:00 UTC; the countdown at the end of each game tells you when.
  • Missed a day? Tap the date at the top to open the calendar and play any past Daily.

Tips

  • Heights are the official ones from the Pokédex, measured standing — a long serpent like Onix is 8.8 m “tall”.
  • Compare with Pokémon you know: Pikachu is 0.4 m, Charizard 1.7 m, Snorlax 2.1 m.
